Your blood is primarily composed of four components: red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets.
Plasma is essential for cell survival. It contains nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes, and proteins. Plasma can contain up to 8x the naturally occurring levels of platelets.
Platelets are key factors in hard and soft tissue repair mechanisms. They provide the essential growth factors (FGF, PDGF TGF-Beta, EGF, VEGF, IGF) involved in injury healing, cell regeneration, and stimulation of fibroblasts and endothelial cell processes.
After the patient’s blood has been drawn, it is spun in a centrifuge to separate plasma and platelet sediment from the remaining cellular composition. Platelet-rich plasma (Liquid Gold) is useful in a variety of treatments, including skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, microneedling, and wound healing. It is then administered to the treatment areas to initiate the body’s natural healing processes and enhance the activity of growth repair cells.
