Botox Treatment for Grinding/Clenching/TMJ/Face Slimming
Bruxism, known as, grinding or clenching the teeth, can cause earaches, headaches, facial pain, migraine and severe dental problems (including chipping of teeth, loss of tooth enamel or tooth sensitivity).
A full jawline, or square jawline, is generally considered as masculine, while the feminine jawline curves inward to the chin. This can happen when the masseter muscles become enlarged due to grinding, clenching or genetic predisposition.
Botox treatment is a non-surgical procedure for treatment of Bruxism, and TMJ symptoms (Jaw tension, headaches due to teeth grinding, lockjaw in cases of severe stress), and face slimming.
Botox injected directly into the masseter muscles, which weaken those muscles to stop jaw clenching and teeth grinding. The injections are safely administered in our office, by Dr. Maryam Hekmat. Within 1-2 days of treatment the majority of patient’s experience noticeable improvement, however relief can take up to a week. Our patient can return to regular activity immediately and should not massage or rub the injected area and remain upright for a period of 4-5 hours. Our patient should also shy away from exercise for the first 24 hours.
